Week 1: Project Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation
Focus on project cycle, planning, monitoring and evaluation of project, theory of change and impact pathways, development communication, data collection tools, and
basic tools for economic analysis of agricultural projects.
Week 2: Approaches to Sustainable Development
Focus on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), sustainable community development, agriculture extension and scaling up / out of technologies, research and development proposal development, education and training for agriculture development.
Week 3: Emerging issues in Agriculture Development
Focus on agriculture climate change adaptation and resilience, preparedness for natural disasters that impact vegetable production systems, food security, gender and poverty-related issues, urban sprawl, home / school / community gardens, and microfinance.
Week 4: Field Trips
– Community / urban gardens
– Seed Companies / Community seed groups
– Research / extension and academic institutions
– Agribusinesses
